Fall
1941 Axis turn:
Sensing the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Axis throw everything east. The German third
army marches into undefended Leningrad. Another German army lands in Finland, and combined
with the third army and the airborne army, attack the Soviet "North" front. The
attack is bloodily repulsed as the German airborne army is lost. Then the Soviet line
cracks as two panzer armies and an infantry army, with air support, destroy the
"West" front. The panzers advance two hexes, nearly cut off the Soviet
"North" front, and are now adjacent to Moscow. The surrounded "Kiev"
front disintigrates. The Italian air force makes an appearance, supporting an attack by
two German armies and the Italian army against the Soviet "South" front, but
this part of the Soviet line holds. The last Axis thrust before winter ends with the
panzers on the outskirts of Moscow.
Fall
1941 Allied turn:
Barbarossa has failed, but the Soviet army is all but shattered. The "East"
front arrives from siberia and is immediately thrown against the German 3rd panzer army
outside Moscow. The panzer army is hit by siberians and snow, and is destroyed just as
winter ends operations on the eastern front for 1941.
Elsewhere, the British army of Norwegian liberation is moved to Africa where it joins the
Eighth army in Alexandria. A Canadian army from North America also arrives in the
Mediterranean.
