Fall
1939 Axis turn:
The two German infantry armies in East Prussia swing around the open east flank, and
supported by both air units, attack and destroy Polish army "G" and take Warsaw.
The two German infantry armies south of Poland combine with the panzer army to attack the
Polish "F" army, and retreat it into the hex with the "E" army. The
panzer army then advances into Warsaw, joining an infantry army against the expected
Polish attempt to retake their capital.
In events elsewhere, the sitzkrieg begins on the western front as the two German infantry
armies on the French border sit tight. The German fleet, and U-boat unit remain in port.
Italy is not yet in the war.
Fall
1939 Allied turn:
Polish armies "E" and "F" make a futile effort to retake their capital
against superior German forces and fail, losing one army in battle while the other
surrenders as Poland falls.
In events elsewhere, the sitzkrieg continues on the western front as the French do nothing
but send their fleet to North Africa to bring their army there back to France. The Soviets
annex eastern Poland and the Baltic states, and begin the "winter war" against
Finland. Two Soviet armies attack the Finnish army but without success.
