Fall
1944 Axis turn:
In the last German offensive on the eastern front, Hitler orders 5th panzer and 15th
armies to retake Leningrad. The Soviet "North" front is destroyed and the city
is back in Hitler's hands. The last reserve on the eastern front, the 10th army, is
committed to join the 7th army at Minsk.
Elsewhere, the last Italian army fails in a feeble attempt to retake Rome. Italy
surrenders to the Allies, but two German panzer armies still hold cities in the northern
part of the country. The German 3rd and 4th armies are ordered to hold Paris to the last
man.
Fall
1944 Allied turn:
Four American armies, combined with the entire Allied airforce, drive the Germans out of
Paris. The US 1st army lands in southern France, defeats the German 16th army, and takes
Marseilles. An attack by the British 2nd army fails to wrest Bordeaux on the west coast of
France from the German 14th army. The British and Canadians destroy Rommel's panzer corps
in northern Italy and take Milan. The American airborne corps drops on Dublin, but takes a
drubbing from Irish nazis.
Elsewhere, on the eastern front, Stalin calls on the siberians to drive the Germans out of
Leningrad, and the city is retaken. An offensive by three Guards armies again fails to
retake Minsk. The German 12th army is driven out of the Ukraine, and the Soviet 4th Guards
tank army crosses into Poland and takes the city of Brest-Litovsk. Finally, the Free
French army lands in Algeria and takes the last Axis-held city in North Africa.
Summary: The Axis end with 19 cities. The Allies have 36.
The game ends in a draw as both sides achieve "survival" victory level. The
final Axis position in the game is slightly better than it was historically at the end of
1944.
