1940 Axis turn:
The Germans open the final offensive in the battle of France with a preliminary attack by
two armies and the 2-10 air unit which dismantles the Maginot line. Paris is surrounded by
four German armies to the north and east, and two Italian armies to the south which have
crossed the now undefended border between France and Italy. With no retreat route open to
them, the last French units are destroyed. The panzers roll into Paris.
Elsewhere, the German airborne army completes the occupation of Norway.
Fall
1940 Allied turn:
With no possibility of retaking Paris, France surrenders.
Elsewhere, a Soviet army enters Helsinki, ending the war with Finland.
